Challenge Me a Christmas Card with Michelle

Hello!

Today I am sharing a Christmas Card in conjunction with Michelle Lupton, a fabulous cardmaker and friend. She has a series of challenge cards she has been sharing with other crafters over the past week, so please take a look at her blog (found below) to see the many wonderful creations!

Today Michelle and I have been tasked with sharing a silver-themed Christmas Card. Silver is often elegant, so with this in mind I went about my creation.

I used Sizzix Framelits with Stamp, Manger and diecut an oval from the bauble shape to set the heat embossed scene behind and heat embossed the background of the card using My Favorite Things Radiating Rays stencil. The diecut bauble, ribbon and W Plus 9 Hand Lettered Holiday sentiment were cut from glitter cardstock to which I added glitter thread and a smattering of bling!

I attached the bauble with sticky dot adhesive so that it can be removed from the card and hung on a Christmas tree to be enjoyed for years to come.

Thankyou Michelle for having me join you in your Christmas Card Challenge! To check out Michelle's card, click here.

Happy crafting and have a great day!

Pets and Animals - November DT Project

Hello!

November is bringing Pets and Animals projects to you from the Auzz Trinklets and Crafts blog. I decided to pull out a stamp set I have had here for a few months and had not yet had a chance to use.

This card uses Neenah Classic Crest 110# Smooth Solar White Cardstock for the base which is cut with a paper trimmer at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored with a teflon bone folder at 5 1/2" to make a top folding card of 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

I used Simon Says Stamp Cardstock in the colours Seaglass, Green Apple and Green Leaf for the sky, grass and tree foliage.

The dies used were Lawn Fawn Stitched Tree BordersPuffy Clouds Borders and Grassy Hillside Borders. The tree trunks were coloured with Copic Markers E17 and E 79.

The cat was stamped in Altenew Inks, Paper Bag and Dark Chocolate from Altenew Modern Cats and the grass clumps were stamped from an older set, My Favorite Things Modern Blooms.

The sentiment was also from Altenew Modern Cats stamp set, stamped in Versamark Ink and twice embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder.

I embellished the card using Ranger Liquid Pearls in Ruby Red and Tonic Studios Nuvo Drops in Simply White.

Thankyou for following along with me today. If you cannot find the items I have used (listed below) in the Auzz Trinklets and Crafts store, be sure to drop Neha a message via email or Facebook and she will do what she can to order the product in for you.

Happy crafting and have a great day!

Rainbows - October DT Project 2

Hi There!

We are celebrating all that is colourful this month at Auzz Trinklets and Crafts and I have created a happy 'Rainbow' themed card once again.

I used a paper found in the My Favorite Things Party Pattern Paper Pack and backed it with black cardstock before adhering to the card base.

The phone die from Lawn Fawn Selfie Frames was cut from silver foil cardstock and layered with 5 pieces of white cardstock to form a solid frame, using Ranger Multi Medium Matte. The heart was diecut from the Lawn Fawn Magic Slider die set and cut from Yupo Paper that I ran through a Sizzix Sidekick Machine. I coloured the Yupo Paper with Tim Holtz Adirondack Brights Alcohol Ink with each of the colours in rainbow order. I dripped some colour onto the middle of a piece of Yupo cut at 3 1/2" x 5" - first the Watermelon, then Sunset Orange into the middle of the red, as it pushed out the colour, then Sunshine Yellow, again into the middle of the orange, then Citrus followed by Sail Boat Blue and Purple Twilight applied in the same manner.

I adhered the heart with 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape. The hello sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider die set was cut from silver glitter cardstock and I stacked the die four times with white cardstock then attached it to the heart, surrounding it with a few small hearts cut from the silver foil cardstock cut with a die from Concord & 9th Happy Balloons die set.

Rainbows - October DT Project

Hello!

Our theme for the month of October is Rainbows!

I chose to use Distress Oxide Inks to lay down my rainbow colours as they blend beautifully. This was important as currently the Oxide range does not yet have an indigo colour, but by blending the colours together, indigo sprang to life!

Using small Tsukineko ink daubers, I blended the Distress Oxide colours in rainbow order - Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet onto Neenah Classic Crest 80# Smooth Solar White Cardstock.

I diecut the balloon, string and tassels from my rainbow cardstock using the Happy Balloons dies from Concord & 9th with a Sizzix Bigshot machine, while the balloon was cut once again, as was the banner and heart from black cardstock. I cut a slither of the rainbow cardstock and two from black and placed them in position onto the cardbase.

I then placed all other elements onto the card using Ranger Multi Medium Matte and punched some small dots to look like confetti and adhered them also.

I paper pieced the balloon and adhered it to the card, adding Ranger Glossy Accents to the heart for shine. I stamped the sentiment from Concord & 9th Happy Balloons Stamp Set and embossed it using Versamark Ink and Ranger Embossing Powder, White after swiping the cardstock with EK Tools Powder Tool to prep the surface.

I placed the banner onto the card with some 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape across the middle and Ranger Multi Medium Matte on the ends and after brushing some Zig Wink of Stella onto the balloon, the card was complete.

All About The Men - September DT Project 2

Hello Everyone!

Today I have another card "All About the Men" to share with you.

This card uses Neenah Classic Crest 110# Smooth Solar White Cardstock for the base which is cut with a paper trimmer at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored with a teflon bone folder at 5 1/2" to make a side folding card of 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

I die cut four white frames from My Favorite Things Blueprints 27 with a Sizzix Big Shot Machine from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Smooth Solar White Cardstock and one black cardstock frame to form a stacked layer and adhered this with Ranger Multi Medium Matte to the centre of the card front.

I used the same die to die cut the inserts of the frame from Simon Says Stamp Seaglass cardstock. I placed these pieces in a MISTI and stamped them with the Hero Arts Waves Background stamp in My Favorite Things Berrylicious Hybrid Ink. I stamped the sentiments in onto each piece, using Versafine Onyx Black ink and then die cut the varying size waves into each piece with Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Accents. I tucked the images from Lawn Fawn Duh-Nuh  into these die cut waves after stamping them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colouring them with Copic Markers on X-Press It Blending card.

I placed each piece into the frame and propped up the head of the shark with a little 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape. The googly eyes from my stash were then adhered and I swirled some Zig Wink of Stella, Clear onto all the shark images to complete this comic strip style card.

All About The Men - September DT Project

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to our month of celebrating All About The Men!

I think many of us struggle with creating a masculine themed card and hopefully we can provide you with some inspiration throughout September here on the Auzz Trinklets and Crafts blog.

Bold and graphic are elements I think of when it comes to a masculine design. I kept things fairly simple here as the stamp really does all the work for me on this card.

The Concord & 9th turnabout stamps are a revelation. I used the Concord & 9th Triangle Turnabout stamp on this card and it was so fun to play with. There is a little bit of prep to using these stamps, so be sure to check out the You Tube video they have on their channel to learn what you need to do.

I may have mentioned this before, but for all the fabulous techniques that can be done with Ranger Distress Oxide Inks, I simply love stamping with them! For this background I used Wild Honey (yum!), Peacock FeathersFaded Jeans and Fired Brick. I stamped with a MISTI onto a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" Neenah Classic Crest 80# Smooth Solar White Cardstock piece and trimmed it down to
4 1/8" x 5 1/2" to fit the card front, bar a sliver on the right where I placed a strip of Simon Says Stamp 100# Soft Navy Cardstock

I used the same cardstock to cut a strip for the sentiment and the top piece of the 'stars' word die. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark Ink from My Favorite Things Written in the Stars and heat embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder, White after swiping the cardstock with EK Tools Powder Tool to prep the surface.

I then diecut the word 'stars' with the Sizzix Big Shot Machine from My Favorite Things Shining Stars using Neenah Classic Crest 80# Smooth Solar White Cardstock and stacked these together using Ranger Multi Medium Matte, placing the navy piece on top and adhering to the card. I then adhered the sentiment strip above and the card was complete.

Perhaps it is unconventional to have not included some stars on my card, but sometimes unexpected can be fun. What do you think?

Animals - August DT Project 2

Hello Everyone!

I am back with my second "Animal" project for the month - winter is almost over - yay!!

This card uses Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Smooth Solar White Cardstock for the base which is cut with a paper trimmer at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored with a teflon bone folder at 5 1/2" to make a side folding card of 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

I cut four frames from My Favourite Things Blueprints 27 with a Sizzix Bigshot Machine and stacked them together, adhering with Ranger Multi Medium Matte. I then glued the stamped and die cut cats from My Favorite Things Smitten Kitten (stamped with Memento Tuxedo Ink, coloured with copic markers onto X-Press It cardstock) in place onto the front of the frame. I diecut some American Crafts glitter cardstock in a purple shade with the same frame for the squares and adhered them to the back of the images.

I cut a piece of white cardstock and coloured the edges using a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool with Distress Oxide Ink, Seedless Preserves and adhered the frame to the centre of this piece. I then adhered a piece of white cardstock cut with the frame die into the rectangle opening.

I used the My Favorite Things You Trio to diecut 'YOU' three times from white cardstock and once from glitter cardstock, stacked the letters and adhered these in place.

I went back to the My Favorite Things Blueprints 27 and used the small fishtail banner for the sentiment from My Favorite Things Smitten Kitten. I stamped the sentiment in Distress Oxide Ink, Seedless Preserves with my MISTI  and then stamped it again with Versamark Ink on top. I heat embossed it with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder using a Wagner Heat ToolI then added the sentiment onto the card.

Once the piece was added to the card base, I added a tiny amount of Ranger Enamel Accents, Black to the eyes of the cats and Ranger Glossy Accents to their noses to complete the card.
